Why this exists
“There is no moat” is the line of the moment. The argument goes: AI can now build any app in an afternoon, so small software businesses have nothing to protect them, and everyone will build what they need in-house.
The technology part may be true. The buying part isn’t. People don’t buy software because it was hard to write. They buy it because they have a job to get done this week, and someone has already done the boring work: the edge cases, the support, the updates, the export that actually opens in Excel.
A plumber doesn’t want to prompt an invoice chaser into existence, and a dental practice doesn’t want to maintain one. They want the one that works, from people who answer email.
So this is a list of those products. Small, specific, ready today. Anyone can add one. Makers prove it’s theirs with an email at their own domain, and then only they can change it. Anyone can mark the ones they’d rather buy than build.
