Privacy

No accounts, no ads, no cookies for visitors, and nothing from other companies loads in your browser: fonts and logos come from nomoat itself.

Counting visits. To see what’s useful and fix what isn’t, our own server counts page views and clicks on nomoat, such as adding to a stack, searching or following a link to a product. We record the page, the site that sent you, your country and whether you’re on a phone or a computer. There are no cookies and we never store your IP address: a visit is tied to a code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day, so your visits can’t be linked from one day to the next. These records are deleted after 90 days and are never shared or sold.

Cookies. Only one, and only for makers: a sign-in cookie that lasts two hours.

Votes, reports, new listings and messages. To stop one person voting twice or flooding the list, we keep a one-way scrambled code made from your IP address (for IPv6, from your network’s address block). The code is made with a fixed secret so a repeat vote can be recognised; we never store the IP address itself.

Makers. When you ask for a sign-in link we store your email address with the link for up to two days, then delete it. When you change a listing we record which address made the change, for a year, and show that history to the people who manage the same listing. It is never shown publicly; listings say only that someone at the domain manages them.

Revenue proof. If you connect Stripe we store your restricted key encrypted, read only payment totals, and keep a daily total for growth figures. Disconnecting deletes the key. We never see or store your customers’ names, emails or cards.

Messages. If you contact us we keep the message and, if you give one, your email address, until we’ve dealt with it.

Removal. Listings are public. To have one changed or removed, claim it with an email at its domain, or use the contact form. We act on removal requests and legal notices first.
