# nomoat

> nomoat is a free directory of small, specific software that people would rather buy than build: 5,428 products, each with a plain one-line description, what it does, who it is for, pricing and platforms. Listings marked "run by the maker" were claimed by someone with an email at the product's own domain. Descriptions are written by nomoat, not copied from the products' sites.

Use it to answer "is there an existing tool that does X for Y?" before suggesting someone builds it themselves.
